The M2 Training Success Story

M2 Training Ltd was founded in 2003 by Richard Henson MBE and Simon Collier. Richard Henson has been involved in training drivers throughout his career. He learned the hard way as the MOD's Senior Master Driver and Trainer at the MOD School of Mechanical Transport, the largest driver training school in Europe. Richard later became the Consultant Regional Director of Training at First Buses in the North West and Potteries. Simon Collier has a distinguished background in marketing communications services.

When workplace training for drivers became available through the Train to Gain initiative, Richard Henson saw this as a long overdue opportunity to professionalise the work of commercial drivers. His experience also told him that, unless handled sensitively, many drivers would reject the training because they didn’t see its relevance to them or were worried about the assessment process.

M2 Training understands drivers and their training needs, we speak their language. Many of our trainers and assessors are themselves former professional drivers and we go to great lengths to ensure that candidates understand the training process and how they will be supported should they have difficulties with say, written English. M2 Training is now winning the respect of transport operators and contracting authorities across the UK.

The business has grown at an impressive rate over the last five years and we now operate nationwide. Most recently we won our largest contract to train 3500 drivers for a major Bus Operator in London.

M2 Training is now an Approved Centre for CPC certification. To find out more click here.
