Benefits to Transport Operators
Transport operators now work to tighter and tighter margins and with rocketing fuel prices, they are under pressure to deliver value as never before. A well-trained driver workforce is able contribute to the success and long term viability of your operation in so many ways. Training delivers improvements in customer service and operational efficiency, with a reduction in mistakes and costly accidents. Many of our clients report improvements in team work and because offering training is seen as a mark of confidence in a driver, staff retention improves. Training also helps drivers to think about issues such as safety and customer service, giving them the confidence they need to do their jobs professionally. All this translates into a marketing advantage, helping you to win and retain business. The NVQ is a nationally recognised qualification which can be awarded to your drivers through the Train to Gain initiative, and is fully Government funded. The NVQ Level 2 qualification also goes a long way towards meeting future training requirements such as the CPC or Certificate of Professional Competence which will soon become mandatory for LGV drivers. It is already a requirement for PCV drivers. The Industry, represented by the Sector Skills Councils, says that this NVQ is the single nationally recognised quality standard by which measures of quality services should be judged.
