Golden Boy Coaches sees clear route to CPC following NVQ Level 2 certification with M2 Training
M2 Training was keen to show Terry the benefits of Train to Gain and the unique way in which it could be delivered to his staff at no cost to himself. Richard Henson was able to assure Terry that M2 Training’s programme would be stimulating to his staff and not cover material in the upcoming CPC training. The Solution: It was agreed that M2 Training would first deliver two full-day induction courses held in-house at Golden Boy’s own training facilities. Terry explains the benefits of this arrangement given the nature of their working day: ‘Keeping it on-site made the logistics of freeing up enough drivers each day a viable proposition, whilst still allowing us to cover our work commitments,’ M2 Training was flexible in fitting the induction days into quieter periods such as school holidays. Following this, there was a period of approximately six to eight weeks where an appointed assessor from M2 Training ‘lived in’ at the Golden Boy depot to carry out observations and assessments on drivers’ daily duties. Terry was pleased to see that this fell into a workable pattern with their assessor liaising personally with the company’s transport manager to ensure he was able to spend time with each driver. The Result: All twenty-seven of Terry’s drivers attained NVQ Level 2 in PCV Driving. Terry speaks of the benefits Train to Gain have brought to his company:‘Our hope was that our staff, through better awareness and understanding would be in a position to deliver the most professional service possible to our clients, whilst ensuring that they and we are fully compliant with the increasing burden of legislation. Thus far, we consider this has been achieved. The forthcoming CPC now holds no fear for us.’ Case studies |
