CPL Petroleum is a firm believer in complying with Industry Standards for driver training. Happily the NVQs for Driving Goods Vehicles was right on target.
The Challenge: GB Oils subsidiary, CPL Petroleum Ltd is one of the largest oil distributors in Britain and Ireland. Last year, it sold over 3.2bn litres of oil to 375,000 domestic, commercial, industrial and agricultural customers throughout Britain and Ireland. Service quality is top of its agenda. The Solution: When CPL were approached by M2 Training to discuss the benefits of the NVQ Level 2 in Driving Goods Vehicles with full Train to Gain funding, Transport Training Manager Paul Starns was all ears. The fact that the training could be fully Train to Gain funded was a considerable bonus. The Result: We will leave Paul Starns to sum up the outcome of the training initiative. "Our business is based on delivering a quality service to our customers. To manage quality you need to set a number of Industry Standards, and then train your drivers in the procedures and skills to meet those standards. For our Industry oil distribution the recognised Industry Standard is called the Level 2 NVQ in Driving Goods Vehicles. I was pleased to be approached by M2 Training Ltd, who were able to source full funding from Train to Gain and to deliver this NVQ to my drivers, in their workplace. More importantly, M2 Training worked closely with us so that all training and assessment was delivered at the times, which best suited our operational requirements. It has been a worthwhile experience for both me and my drivers, and this photograph of them receiving their NVQ certificates shows just how much they enjoyed this training with M2 Training."
